Sweat it Out!

Ok so how many of you have had a “fun” night out and woke up thinking I should go sweat this out.  Its ok you are not alone!  Trust me, I’ve worked in a gym for years and I can tell you on many occasions I know who was out partying it up the night before.

So the answer to the question is SORT OF!  Yes I said sort of.  Some alcohol is excreted through your sweat glands but your liver is what does all the work.  Working out and sweating does not make the liver work any faster.  Not to mention exercise does not necessarily make you feel better.
Alcohol dehydrates you which decreases your blood volume, and reduces your blood flow to muscles therefore putting you at risk for heat illness.  So guess what? Sitting in the Sauna or Steam room is probably not a good idea either!
Now if you are going to hit the gym, PLEASE take it slow and sip water throughout.  Yeah and be warned if yoga is your cure, you might experience nausea from all the up and down movements.
Take this advice for your next outing:  Start with a glass of water and for every drink you have drink a glass of water right after. You’ll thank me later.
