Being Mindful

If I told you I had the secret to slowing down time, to taking control of your happiness & joy, to giving you the power of now, to detach from what isn’t serving you and make your life more fulfilled, Would you listen? More importantly would you do it!?

Do you spend your days running from moment to moment?

Does your life feel like you are “On Demand” all the time?   

The answer is probably a resounding UH – YES!  All of us have been there or maybe you are there right now while you read this, eating and multi-tasking your life away.  Practicing mindful behavior will bring more happiness, joy, clarity, peace and meaning in your life. 

6 Essential Healthy Habits

I promise they will change your life.  WARNING: this is not a quick fix. It’s a habit you have to develop & it takes time.  One last thing… it’s not as easy as it sounds. But don’t let that stop you!  

#1 Take a moment

The morning is the literal beginning to your day. Instead of jumping up out of bed & hitting the ground running or grabbing your phone.  Take a moment to breathe, listen, pray (if you like), find gratitude in waking up. Be PRESENT.

#2 Meditate

It is the art of mindfulness. Taking time to connect with your mind & breath helps you appreciate the gift of NOW. It could take some getting used to but it’s beneficial in so many ways.  It’s also great for relaxation & stress relief. Give it a try in the middle of the day or before bed. #3 Spend time outside with loved ones

 Take a walk around your neighborhood. If you have some nice trails, parks, or green spaces, they can make the perfect environment for getting in touch with nature & connecting with the present moment. Observe what you see, listen to the sounds, feel the weather, smell the air.

#4 Feel Feelings

As much as we want to be happy all the time, sometimes, you just need to accept unpleasant emotions in that moment.  Disappointment, sadness, anger, jealousy, etc.  They are real, just be mindful of how you react to the feelings. And don’t try to force a feeling in an effort to resist another.  

#5 Read

Grab a good book, or try an audible one.  Pick any topic of interest based on your personal growth and development desires/needs. 

#6 Journal

Dear diary…. No seriously grab a journal book and write DAILY.  Pick a dedicated time like first thing in the morning or before bed.  Write your thoughts, ideas, feelings, expressions, concerns, wants, desires, wishes, dreams you get my point. Most importantly write whatever comes up!
